Zwergkrallenfrösche müssen sorgfältig gefüttert werden, vor allem, wenn sie mit Fischen zusammen im Aquarium leben. Fische sind viel schneller in der Nahrungsaufnahme. Die Fröschlein fressen lebende oder gefrorene rote Mückenlarven, aber auch anderes Futter, das zu Boden fällt. Da sie alles fressen, was sie finden, muß man darauf achten, sie nicht zu überfüttern. Sie schlucken ihre Nahrung ganz herunter. |
| African dwarf frogs must be fed carefully, especially when they are kept with fish. Fish are much quicker when it comes to finding and eating food. The frogs eat live or frozen blood worms as well as other food that sinks to the ground. Since they eat all they can find, you have to take care that they won't eat too much. They devour morsels of food whole. |  |

Die Frösche verbringen die meiste Zeit am Boden des Beckens und tauchen nur zum Luftholen kurz auf. Manchmal jedoch sitzen sie gern an oder auf einer Pflanze direkt an der Wasseroberfläche. Das hat nichts schlimmes zu bedeuten - es scheint ihre Methode zu sein, sich zu entspannen. Von Zeit zu Zeit streifen Zwergkrallenfrösche ihre alte Haut ab, also muß man sich keine Sorgen machen, wenn es so aussieht, als fiele ein Bein ab! |
| African dwarf frogs spend most of their time at the ground of the rank and only surface to breathe. Sometimes however they seem to enjoy sitting close or on top of a plant right at the surface. This is perfectly normal and seems to be their way to relax.
From time to time the frogs shed their skin. So don't worry if it looks as if a limb is coming off! |
